After many years of practice, my wife and collaborator Millie and I have been able to set up some processes that make running the store a lot easier. And we've got some amazing employees that keep everything on track. So, while the store doesn't exactly run itself, we have enough excess capacity that I'm able to turn my attention toward a career change.
As you can see from my portfolio, I've been a very wordy toy store owner, a trait which has served us well. Retail has also taught me the importance of customer service and word of mouth advertising. Service starts with listening and understanding each of our customers' needs. It's the ability to ask the right questions to help a customer choose just the right toy for a child's birthday or the perfect gift for a baby shower.
This is the service ethic I mean to bring to my writing practice. Let me find just the right words for you.
